APAC

APAC – Associazione Per l’Architettura della Città is a non-profit cultural association whose aim is the knowledge and dissemination of the architectural culture.

APAC will promote design, history and theory of architecture and urban planning as tools for the understanding and the analysis of the heritage in view of its re-use and restoration.

Sewing a Small Town

APAC is the scientific promoter of SEWING A SMALL TOWN, international architecture summer school with a design workshop planned in Gassino Torinese (Italy), now at its third edition (2015, 2016, 2017).

The activities consist of theoretical evening courses and a design workshop for 30 international participants (students or young architects) selected through the evaluation of portfolios and a curriculum vitae by a scientific committee.

Every year, on July, thanks to SEWING A SMALL TOWN the historical center of Gassino Torinese becomes an open-air laboratory where design experiments suggest new and innovative ways to reconsider the whole landscape surrounding the city and the built environment, re-evaluating the physical memory of the region’s past.
